PgmEdit - Customize Shortcuts

PgmEdit home

The Tools/Customize Shortcuts function can be used to set or change most shortcuts in the File, Edit, Search, View, Tools and Help menus.    For example the Edit/Date shortcut can be changed from the F3 Default key to a combination of the Ctrl key and the D key (Ctrl+D).

Note - The first nine (1-9) items in the Customize Shortcuts list are reserved for the most-recently loaded Macros.  Refer to the Macros Help file.

The Customize Shortcuts dialog has four sections:  Control Keys, Shortcut Key, Default Keys, and Shortcut to Change

Control Keys

Function keys F1-F12 can be used as a shortcut without any Control Keys.  Otherwise Ctrl, Shift, Ctrl+Shift, Or Alt can be used with a Function, letter, or number key.
For example, check the Ctrl box and select the letter D for the shortcut Ctrl+D

Shortcut Key

After selecting the Control keys (if applicable), select the "Shortcut Key" (Function, letter, or number key) for the shortcut.   Note that a "None" key removes a shortcut from a menu item

Default Keys

Check the "Default Keys" box to restore one or more shortcuts to its installation value

Shortcut to Change

Select the menu item "Shortcut to Change" from this list and then click the Apply button to make the change
